How often and when should nausea occure while on Sprintec?

I have been on Sprintec for about 1 week 1/2 and during this time, I have had 3 instances of morning nausea, along w/ headaches afterwards. I believe it is due to the pill because i almost never experience nausea. I take the pill at night about an hour or two after eating dinner. I experience the nausea only in the morning after being up around an hour or so. If anyone could provide some incite into whether i should be experiencing such a delayed reaction to the pill, i would appreciate it. Thank you.

Not a doctor, but a long-time b.c.-taker

This happens to me sometimes, too. My doctor said that side-effects are common in the first couple of months, and not to be worried, so long as you're sure that you aren't pregnant.

I had nausea while using Sprintec too

I had just asked my doctor about that too! She said to take it at 9pm before bed so the nausea isn't so bad. However, she said it takes about 2 months to get used to the switch from Orthocyclen to Sprintec.

NAUSEA EXPERIENCED

I am nauseated all day, every day. I have been on the meds for almost 2 weeks and just started with the nausea about 5 days ago. I finally called my dr. today and am waiting on a call back. The nausea gets worse every time I eat or drink, which is horrible since I drink water all day (trying to loose weight)!

These drugs are the same

Why would your body need time to adjust to Sprintec after taking Orthocyclen? The first is simply a generic of the latter.

Well...

actually, generic versions of brand name drugs are NOT the identical pills. while orthocyclen and sprintec both contain the same hormones, the amounts of each hormone can vary from the brand name pill to each generic version. these slight differences can have major side effects depending on the user. so even if your body is used to one pill (brand name or generic), switching to a different generic version can take a little bit for your body to adjust.
