Missed period after Kenalog-40 injectionBy Norma Cohol from Hubbard, Ohio on January 19, 2006 Category: Kenalog-40 (Injection) I had a Kenalog-40 injection on Friday January 13th 2006. In my right sholder do to bursitis. I am on no other meds. My period was do to start on the 12th so I was 1 day late or my 29th cycle day. It has been a week and I have not started. Urine pregnancy test negative. Blood pregnancy test yesterday negative. Is the lateness from the Kenalog and if so how much of a delay can I expect ? Other then 2 pregnancies. I have never missed a cycle from day 1 age 11 to now age 34. I have had 3 major surgeries none on my female organs and last surgery 1998. I have come early once or twice but never late. How long will this delay last I am on an emotional Roller coaster . Is it possible to be pregnate and the HCG not show up in the test ? Thank You, Norma J Cohol |
Kenalog injection experienceHi Norma A few years ago l had a kenolog injection. Unfortunatley my cycle was affected. My periods were not late they were all over the place. This apparently is a side effect of Kenolog. l like youself felt emotionally unstable. l can t give you any medical advise but l would be intrested to see how you go on. Hopefully it will sort itself out quickly Sue By Sue from Lincolnshire uk on February 10, 2006 | Reply | Missed periodI know how you feel! I’m 41 years old and got a Kenalog shot one week before my period was due to start. I am having a very strange period this month. No actual bleeding is present. It is more like dried blood that occurs toward the end of a period. I called my doctor and she stated that this is a side effect of Kenalog. Have things gotten back on track for you? By Susan from Clovis, NM on March 14, 2006 | Reply | Irregular PeriodI did receive the Kenalog injection about sixty days ago and I have experienced a stop and go period since the injection. My OB/GYN Doctor wants to do a biopsy on me and after reading some of your comments I don't think I am going to go forward with this. Please answer if anyone knows of how long I will have irregular periods and how long kenalog is present in the body? Thanks Lisa By Lisa from Bolivar, OH on August 16, 2006 | Reply | Extra Long PeriodIn doing some research this morning, I find that I am not the only one experiencing period problems. I have now had my period for 16 days! I even called the anesthesiologist to tell him my problem and he said he never heard of that happening before! (guess he didnt check the web site). So now I have an appointment with my OB/GYN tomorrow to find out what he thinks. I even took a pregnancy test to make sure I wasnt pregnant and it was negative. I cant believe this side effect, I would have never taken the drug if I knew this was going to happen. I was also told that the success rate is 50/50. Well, I guess I was in the 50% in which it doesnt work, because after 1 month all of my pain is back. I have a large bulging disc in my L5-S1 area and my doctor is trying to avoid surgery so he suggested I try this injection (which was done as an epidural and it was quite painful to get). So now I go back to my famil doc on the 16th of the month for a referal to a surgeon. I wont try this shot ever again. By Valerie from Hampton Roads, Virginia on November 05, 2006 | Reply | Irregular periods-Kenelog 40I am also having side effects because of the Kenelog 40 injections. I received two injections, one week apart at the end of June/beginning of July. My period after that point was 2 weeks late and when it finally came it lasted 35 DAYS straight!!!! I was so concerned and worried. I went to my OBGYN and obtained all necessary exams to rule out complications to the ovaries, cysts, etc... Everything came back normal. I mentioned the injections to the doctor but he said he was not sure of that. After that, my period came one month normal. Then it skipped a whole month and arrived again just two days ago. Went back to the OBGYN and obtained blood work to check hormone levels and thyroid levels. Again, all normal. So, after much research on the Internet and speaking to friends, I am noticing that many women are going through menstral irregularities due to the Kenelog-40 injections. I feel calmer now. However, does anyone know how long these side effects will last for? By Susie W. from Fort Lauderdale, FL on December 03, 2015 | Reply | abnormal cycleI'm 22, and have been getting kenalog shots since I was 20 for extreme allergies. Every time I get the shot the first 2 months are terrible. Usually the first month I don't get my period at all. Of course I take a test just in case and they always come back negative. I've spoken with my OBGYN and she showed me cases in which women are effected in many different ways. I say if you've gotten the shot it is more than likely your hormones and cycle will be effected! I tend to get more anxious and unbalanced. Just know it's very normal. I also asked if it would effective the effectiveness of BC and the answer was no. No worries ladies! By Kayla from Arizona on February 23, 2016 | Reply | Long Period with Kenalog-40 injectionI had 4 shots for my neck pain after a accident. I was on my period 2 days. Than after about 5 days it quit. I thought Great its shorter. Three days after that I had started and haven't stopped for 25 days. I was told is could mess up your cycle after I received the shots. Thanks.. if I knew this craziness was going to happen I would of Never got them. Trying to get this stuff out of my system by drinking ACV apple cider vinegar and Black-strap molasses. Seems to at least give me a little more energy. I was feeling drained from all this craziness. Hoping it stops soon. Thanks for all the Posts on here.
