How long do severe side-effects take to resolve?By Paul B from Derbyshire UK on January 13, 2006 Category: Ranitidine hydrochloride After taking ranitidine hydrochloride for 6 to 7 weeks, 150mg bi-daily, I was taken into hospital with shortness of breath, chest pain, stomache pains and throat pain. I also experienced less severe effects in the form of a rash. No cause for all these symptoms was found at the hospital in Los Angeles but on returning home and taking further ranitidine, the same happened again in the UK. I think this was the ranitidine as I began to feel much better about 10 days after ceasing to take it. Is this likely? Can there be lasting effects, when the reaction has been severe? |
Thank you for the reply concerning ranitidine hydrochlorideTaking another dose after being told to by a paramedic did bring on an immediate recurrence of symptoms. Will ensure that the probable allergic reaction goes in my medical records. Worth noting that recovery from chest/lung effects took several weeks.
