Will missing birth control pills cause your period to be late?

I am taking Alesse 28, the birth control pill and I missed two pills earlier this month. I caught up on them, but now my period is 4 days late. Is this normal or should i be worrying about something worse?

Don't worry...

Your period could just be late. If you are having pregnancy symptoms like nausea and larger breasts then take a pregnancy test at a friends house.
