Isoniazid

My Dad was in the Phillipines in the 1950s, he was infected with tb while in the service. He was treated with isoniazid in Colorado and was told at that time the drug was experimental. Since that time my Dad has a severe hearing loss. His family doctor asked him if he had taken isoniazid for treatment of his tb, and that it had a side effect of hearing loss, is that true?
