why are they no longer selling Titralac in storesBy Sharon Raitt from Des Moines IA on November 27, 2012 Category: Titralac Plus (Oral) My husband and I have been taking Titralac for years. I believe since it came out on the market. Now all of a sudden there is no store in Des Moines IA, that sells it. Please tell me why it has been pulled off the shelves, and the pharmacy says they can't even order it. It the next best thing to a prescription, which I can't afford. Thank you in advance Sharon Raitt |
AgreedI don't understand why they are removing it either. I use Prilosec but use Titralac as an extra boost when eating extra spicy foods. I finally talked my husband into using it after years of him using Tums. HE EATS THOSE THINGS! Two Titralac cured his prob's... He has used one bottle and now they are gone! NOT JUST IN KANSAS... EVERYWHERE... MO, PA, NJ and KS... We've been told they are no longer manufacturing them. WHY WHY WHY?? These things are BETTER than an RX! Very good price to boot... I have also noticed they haven't advertised these pills for YEARS so maybe they weren't selling them as they would like... ADVERTISE!! BRING THEM BACK! What will we do without them as we have tried everything SUPPOSEDLY comparable and they are not NEAR AS GOOD! Thanks, Smiles By SMILES from Kansas on December 11, 2012 | Reply | Titralac GONE!???My family has used Titralac for over 40 years... ONLY thing that really works and we have done many prescriptions. We always got these at Wal-Mart here in Tulsa, OK. Titralac Plus was what they carried... awesome price. Usually bought two bottles every month. So on this Christmas eve... thought I might stock up for all the guests! To my surprise NO ONE at the pharmacy's or Wal-Mart had any answers. Here in Tulsa they were available nearly everywhere. Today... after 4 Wal-Marts, Walgreens, Target, even Sears here carried it!!! They are off the store shelves. I understand they were now being made in Australia. I don't care where they are made! I NEED Titralac!!!! This isn't right! I found a bottle this evening on Ebay for $249. So this stuff must really be gone! WAAAAH! By Clint from United States on December 24, 2012 | Reply | Titralac No Long MadeTitralac is no longer made. I called 3M and they said they stopped production of Titralac in October 2012. Stores are just selling what they have in inventory. I have seen a lot of bottles on the Internet selling for $64 and one bottle was listed at $5,999. I assume these prices are set by some goofy "supply & demand models" that spew out prices that bring supply into line with demand. Since there is no supply, the price rises astronomically as people search for the product. I gave the customer rep at 3M an "earful" to pass back to the Marketing Department who made this decision. The customer reps are taking comments and funneling them to the appropriate channels, they say. If you want to complain OR BETTER YET, start a campaign to bring back this wonderful OTC antacid, call 800-537-2191. Does anyone have any suggestions for a substitute? By Lynn Jensen from Chicago, IL on February 20, 2013 | Reply | No more Titralac? When I was in Walmart in December 2012 to buy a couple of bottles, I had to ask a pharmacy assistant where they had moved the Titralac. She finally found them on a clearance shelf. I knew that was a bad sign so I bought 9 bottles. Nothing has ever come close to giving me the relief that Titralac does. It is one of the best products of any kind that has ever been on the market in all of modern history. Whenever I ingest caffeine from any source, it gives me indigestion. I take 3 Titralac and the indigestion is gone instantly. Why would they do this to the millions of us who have no other solution? By Donna from Columbus,Ohio on March 09, 2013 | Reply | Titralac goneThank you for posting the number to 3M. I will be calling them this week. They will get an earful from me too. Titralac is the only antacid that works. I've tried every one on the market - including the 2 nexium that I have been taking every day for the past 4 years. By Ellen from Richmond, VA on March 10, 2013 | Reply | Re: why are they no longer selling Titralac in storesI'm sitting at my computer with an empty Titralac bottle in my hand. The active ingredients are, very simply, Calcium Carbonate (420 mg) and Simethicone (21 mg). I'd think any OTC antacid AND antigas medication would fill the bill. It may be, the reason one could take Titralac "as needed", was because the dosage was so small. (I also have a bottle of Koeger's Multi Symptom Antacid Tablets Chewables next to me, and the active ingredients are Calcium Carbonate 675 mg, Simethicone 60 mg, PLUS Magnesium Hydroxide 135 mg.) By Steven Buchanan from Idaho on March 20, 2013 | Reply | Titralac PlusI have been using Titralac Plus ever since it came on the market. in other words, many years. I worked in an independent pharmacy for 24 years and Titralac was a big seller over the other OTC antacids. It is low in sodium, which I like because I have high blood pressure and it is very effective for my heartburn and indigestion. It is fast acting and pleasant tasting. I have searched every pharmacy and department store in my town looking for Titralac but it has disappeared from the shelves. I looked on line and was shocked when I saw the prices of Titralac. I refuse to pay the online prices but I don't want to buy the other OTC antacids since I don't think they are effective. PLEASE bring Titralac & Titralac Plus back to the retail stores and the prices that we used to pay!!!!!!!! By Carole G. from Falmouth,MA on March 22, 2013 | Reply | TitralacI also have been using Titralac for years. It has always worked. I use it frequently even for nausea, when I know my stomach isn't "right." I never found TUMS to be at all useful. Gaviscon was great, but I didn't like taking something with aluminium in the ingredients! I'm calling 3M to voice my opinion. Thanks for the number. By Kimberly on April 10, 2013 | Reply | Titralac GONE? Are you Kidding?I finally got my husband to take Titralac because it worked. It is low in sodium and contains very little aluminum. This stuff works, even when I have eaten the best I can. It's the best for High blood pressure. The spearmint flavor was awesome and did the trick. This is sad. I know it was made in Australia for 3M company and distributed in St. Paul MN. The address and Phone Number is right on the bottle. I finally realized the last time I bought this product that there was something wrong because I bought everything off the shelf. Then I went back and it was not restocked. I know things come and things go, but this product worked better than Tums, of any other antacid on the market. It just flat works and my digestive system calms right down within hours. I vote to bring it back. And I will keep researching until I find the company to write to and really beg to bring it back. Very sad in Missouri Wanda By Wanda B from Blue Springs, MO on April 17, 2013 | Reply | The Very Best is Gone?????I a number one fan of Titralac Plus. Please bring it back. I agree with everyone's post this is the best antacid ever. With that being said I just wonder who paid 3M "not to manufacture" Titralac. Guess I may have an advantage over many here in the States because my daughter lives in Australia. By unhappy in SC from SC on May 10, 2013 | Reply | Titralac GoneI have looked everywhere in town and no one carries Titralac. I was suprised to find out it is no longer being manufactured. Of course if something works for some reason (money) it is discontinued. My husband & I both have used it for years. He takes priolsec daily but uses titralac for fast releif. I have high blood pressure so it is great because of the low sodium. Please bring it back as it works and very affordable for those of us who cannot afford prescriptions. By JC in NC from New Bern, NC on May 18, 2013 | Reply | Very disappointedI have been using Titralac as a phosphate binder because I am on dialysis. It was a good solution instead of having to get a prescription for a renal drug phosphate binder. I was able to get some off the internet last year but now I need more and can't find it anywhere. 3M needs to start making it and distributing it again! I have recommended it to friends who also recommended to ever friends. there is nothing like it on the market. please bring it back for those of us that depend on it and really need it. By Shirley Montoya from United States on August 03, 2013 | Reply | This doesn't make sense! This doesn't add up. Titralac was the best thing on the market & a lot of people remain dependent on it like myself. Nothing else compares & I've tried them all. I called 3M & was only told "it was a marketing decision." So let me get this straight: the #1 product for its purpose was taken off the market due to a marketing decision? The only thing that makes sense to me is there had to be a pay off. By Jim from OK on August 07, 2013 | Reply | Bring Titrilac back to WalMartI have been using Titrilac since the early 1980's. There is nothing and I mean nothing else in the world that works for me or my husband. I kept a bottle in my car, purse, home, Summer home, and my job. I was sharing them with people. If I had known they were going to be taken off the market I would have been selfish and kept them to myself. Why have they been discontinued? I checked on line and the prices are just plain criminal. Have you removed them because of the demand and know you can make another large fortune off the unfortunate? I certainly hope someone will take the time from the company that makes them and respond to my question. By Elizabeth from Glasco, NY on August 21, 2013 | Reply | I have Crohn's Disease & High blood PressureI have Crohn's disease and high blood pressure and have been taking Titralac for over 30 years to alleviate my digestive problems and pain. It has always worked for and has no side effects, which I do not need. All prescription and other over the counter anti-acids have not worked for me and some prescriptions have caused bad side effects. I'm very sad to find that it has been discontinued and would gladly campaign to bring it back on the market at an affordable price as it was in the past. This is the way of the financial market now, if it is too good and doesn't cost a lot, then is discontinued even if it is in demand. There is more money to be made by selling prescriptions and other expensive remedies. Very, very sad!! I, like everyone else have been searching high and low to find it and finally today decided that I would go online to see if it was pulled off the market for some good reason. It's gone but no good reason is given. This has been my go-to stomach medication when nothing else would work. I had bottles everywhere. They were in my purse, car, camper, fishing tackle box, desk at work, desk at home, next to my bed, in the bathroom and kitchen and in the livingroom. It worked awesome. I can probably make something up similar but why should I when this was such a good product. 3M Bring it back, please! It's sure strange to me why MOST of the old standbys for antacids have been removed from the shelves and are no longer available. Could it be that the companies are going to wait for awhile and then come back on the market with smaller quantities in their bottles and charge more money for the same? This sounds exactly like big business to me. Even though I am sure that some of the execs who work at 3M feel the same as us, they are but voice. No more Mylanta, no more Titralac, no more Win-gel, no more ??? Tums, Rolaids? What a joke. These are nothing more than candy. Why must we suffer?, surely there are people out there that have the ability to see this market for what it is and will , sooner rather than later, step up and, even if they double the price of the old product, give us the relief we all seek. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CALL THE NUMBERS ABOVE. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. By Tom Marxmiller from Abingdon, VA on September 04, 2013 | Reply | Re: why are they no longer selling Titralac in storesJust got off the phone with a rep and they have no p[lans to remarket the product. I asked that she pass along the idea of selling the formula and process to someone as the need is here. She said she would. So IF 3M won't give us what we want and need, maybe there are others out there who could pick up the product and give us what we need. I'm sure that the number here are just a small amount of the people who suffer with the antacid stomachs, acid indigetstion and other forms that Titralc has shown to give relief too, and seeing as this isn't the only antacid that has been removed in the last few years, someone will surely come up with a new choice (name) for this wonderful relief we all need.
