not finishing the full dosage of Cort-biotic

I was prescribed Cortomycin otic Solution for an ear infection. One of my ears was very clogged with wax and the meds just dripped out. I've had my ears cleaned and I do feel better, but the ear that didn't get the drops is still a bit painful and there is some swelling going down the neck. I live on St. Croix, so I need to know what meds would be prescribed if I haven't taken the full dose. Is it like antibiotics, where something stronger is now needed? Or can I just get more of the same and just put it in the one ear?
