how long on pain medictaion before you may experience withdrwals if they are stoppedBy Jan from Solomons MD. on September 04, 2010 Category: MS Contin (Oral) I had been on pain meds. for about 8 years had to come off, they started to make me nauseous. Started on Suboxone, was on it for 1 month. After treatment was complete restarted pain medication for degenerative disc disease. I am on 30 mgs.sustained release MS Contin every 8 hours and Oxycodone IM 15 mgs every 8 hours for 13 days now. If I wanted to stop the MS Contin will I have withdrawal symptoms from it, if I stay on the Oxycodoe 15 mgs.? I am just worried that the MS Contin could be too strong for me, or am I just worried about nothing. I am having irregular heart beats and fast beating heart, sweat very easy and am nauseous, when I try to eat, I am almost throwing up as I try to eat. I don't really feel nauseous though. I don't know what to think. Dr. says it is not from the MS Contin. I am still using the Colondine patch. I feel I may still may be having withdrawal symptoms from the suboxone. Do you feel I may be or not? I think I took 21 tablets of the 8 mgs. starting on June 28th then reduced them every 3 days by 2 mgs. until the 21st. of June then 2, 2 mgs tablets for 6 days and 1, 2 mg. the last day which was the 28th of June. Dr. did not help me to reduce more than that, so I have been having withdrawals from the suboxone. I don't know how long each suboxone tablet stays in your system. So I have been off them for over a month. Should I still be going through withdrawals from the suboxone still? I am very worried. Do you feel that the MS Contin could be causing the irregualr heart beat? My pulse or heart beats per minute is sometimes up to 90. I have had a fluttery feeling in my chest for a long time, could that have been irregular heart beats? I just got a blood pressure cuff that tells when your heart beats are irregular. I just don't know what to think. I see my Primary Care next week for these things. Just wanted your opinion on these concerns. Thank you, Jan Parks |
