Application of levulan kerastick

Previous to the blue light treatment on my head the dermatoligist has removed several squamous cell carcinomas starting in Feb 2009, including adding a 1 1/2 diameter transplant from my chest to the back of my head during Mohs surgery. My head was just healed from the surgery when the blue light treatment was recommended by the dermatoligist.

On Jan 7, 2010 a licensed Esthetician in the dermatoligist office applied the Levulan Kerastick to my face and scalp. She rubbed very hard on my skin with the stick that felt like she was rubbing with rough sandpaper and was very painful. I waited two hours and the blue light was applied which also was extremely painful. The next day, Jan 8, the back of my head had a 2 inch diameter raw place near the transplanted area and it was oozing. I called to see the dermatoligist familiar with my head and the earliest I could see him was Jan 11, 2010. He said it was infected and presribed anti-biotic Doxycycline hyclate 100 mg cap 2 times a day for two weeks and Altabax 1% ointment to apply to my infected area  twice daily for five days. I believe that the Esthetician rubbed my head so hard in the tender area on my head that caused the raw place on my head.

I want to know how hard should the Levulan Kerastick be pressed on the skin, especially the tender skin that I told her about, as she was rubbing my head with it.

Thank you.
