Should this be used on an open laceration wound?

My doctor put stitches on a deep laceration but the wound came apart. Now I have to let the wound heal inside and out. Can I still use the ointment, or do I take the antibiotics he presceribed, or both? Will the ointment prevent it from drying out and healing?
