Can loperamide hycrochloride be given to dogs?By Jennie Cox from Cynthiana, Kentucky on January 01, 2007 Category: Loperamide hydrochloride My veterinarian advised me to give Pepto-Bismol or Kaopectate to my dog for diarrhea resulting from an ifestation of hookworms. However, I discovered that both of those compounds now contain salicylic acid, which dogs should not be given to dogs. As my vet's office is closed today, I cannot contact him to inquire about the possibility of dosing my dog with loperamide hychloride. My dog weighs 60 pounds and is eight years old. Thank you for your assistance. |
