What are the newest studies on Foltx?

My Husband, after 2 bypass surgeries and angioplasty, was put on Foltx by his cardiologist 8 years ago. Recently, when we requested refill from his GP (a new Doctor), he stated that he would not refill the prescription because new studies showed that it was more harmfull than good. We had noticed a great inprovement in the amount of blockage he has in his arteries (per his Cardiologist's previous reports) and wondered why the Foltx would be stopped. He has hereditary high cholesterol and he is on the max dosage of Vitoran. watches his diet carefully and still has difficulty in getting a good cholesterol reading. Seemed like the Foltx was an addition that was helpful.

Can you provide any information that would help us to understand?

Thank you!!
