Enpresse 28 VS. Triphasil 28

Hello,

I have been taking Trphasil 28 birth control since 1989 and recently learned that it is unavailable (temporarily out of stock) and have been advised by several pharmacist to take the generic, Enpresse 28..........can you tell me if there is a difference between Enpresse and Tripasil? Or is it just the coloring of the pills that are different............My Ob/Gyn kept me on Triphasil because it has worked for me with no side effects and helps my fibroids. I just want to be sure that Enpresse will work the same as Triphasil.

Thank you.

Yes, They are exactly the same. (except for the pill coloring) they have the same ingrediants. amounts and all. Enpresse is just the generic form of triphasl.  I use enpresse.

Re: Enpresse vs. Triphasil

I was on Triphasil for a few years and with a change of pharmacies/insurance, I was put on Enpresse.  I have now been on Enpresse for years and have absolutely no problems (didn't with Triphasil either).  I have not notice any changes with the switch.

Enpresse 28's

Lani,

I too was faced with finding another BC so they gave me enpresse which is in my oppinion the exact same pill as Triphasil 28.  I've had no changes in the way the pills has worked for me from the switch.  I've just recently learned that I am now going to be taking Trivora instead of enpresse ($10 per pack vs $28-30)  anyway anxious to see if there is any difference.  I've checked the ingrediants online and there seems to be no significant differnece in the doses of hormones.

I'll post again after taking the Trivora.

Enpresse experience

Hi. I had to try Enpresse recently due to a move. The local pharmacy was not contracted to carry Trivora so he recommended Enpresse. Within 1-2 weeks I noticed irregular bleeding and was concerned. I have used Triphasil, then Trivora for about 15 years now and never experienced bleeding like this. As soon as I could i went back to Trivora through my mail order pharmacy. I have not had any further irregular bleeding.

Enpresse

I have been taking Enpresse for almost three years now and my pharmacy has stopped carrying it. So they gave me Trivora. It's been about two weeks and I've had a crazy amount of irregular bleeding...They said it was the exact same pill but my body doesn't seem to think so. And I haven't missed any days. Should I change pharmacies and go back on enpresse?

Enpresse sensitivity

I was taking Trivora 28 for a couple of years (best BC ever!) for me. It lessened my crippling cramps (usually out of work for about 2 days, and if the pill didn't help, it was possible I had endometriosis or cystic fibrosis) and I had no other side effects.
Then I went on Triphasil for another decade, until it was switched again to a different generic, Enpresse. Then the problems began. I had yeast infections for four months, before I scientifically deduced (new, clean underclothes, constant and strictly followed candida diet and no sexual contact with my beloved) that within 12 hours of taking my Enpresse pill, I was symptomatic of another infection. I have had maybe 2 in my life (working 90 hours a week, weakens the immune systen), and had 5 in 4 months. Not fun. I went off the Enpresse and haven't had a problem since! Now I'm going back to Trivora 28 and am happy to return!!
