On a syringe the dosage measurements are in ml. WHAT DOES ML STAND FOR?

DOES 10MG EQUELS A TENTH OF A ML? ie:(from 0ml to 0.1ml equels 10mg)

Explanation

Ml stands for Milliliter it is the measurement used in alot of drug administrations.  MG is the amount of medication.

For instance Versed comes in 5mg/1ml.  This means that for every 1 Ml there is 5mg of the drug versed.  So if 2.5mg of Versed is ordered you would draw up 2.5ml because of the conentration. If its 10mg/1ml then for every 1 ml there is 10mg of Versed. There are also instances where u will have 5mg/ml in a 3 ml bottle.  So if u were to draw up the entire 3 ml you would have 15mg of that medication.   The amount to be given using ml depends on the concentration of the drug which should be on the bottle/ampule
