Is it possible that taking Terbinafine can develop HIVES?

I just started taking Oral Terbinafin-Lamisil 250mg (twice a day for 7 days) and I've developed big Hives in my forearms, my ankles and my upper abdomin. At times, the itch is unbearable. Help! Are the Hives contagious? My doc said I could put a little of cortizone on them but it doesn't help the burning itch. What about Benadryl? Will it provide a counter-effect on the Lamisil? HELP
