Itraconazole in treatment for Yeast{malassezia]By Dr gavin hay from Hong Kong on August 07, 2006 Category: Itraconazole I am a vet in Hong Kong and our practice has been using Itraconazole for treatment of Malassezia with limited success. I have read that it is universally accepted that itraconazole is not effective against yeast....is that true and is the mode of action in yeast different to fungi. Also some practitioners are using pulse therapy for the yeast....is this feasible given that the yeast live on the skin and not in the hair shaft as does the fungus. i look forward to your reply Thank you...Dr gavin hay |
