LINSINOPRIL DOSINGBy Susan from Cumberland, RI- USA on August 02, 2006 Category: Lisinopril I recently started Lisinopril at 10 mg. The dose has been increased to 20 mg. for better BP control. I find this dose makes me tired-fatigued, but it has helped my blood pressure come down. Can a 20 mg. dose be taken closer to bedtime, such as around 8 p.m. rather than during the day to avoid fatigue during the day while working? |
PharmacistLinsinopril maybe taken any time of the day. So, if it makes you fatigued , bedtime is appropriate. Just for your general information, linsinopril is usually dosed starting at 5 mg for 2 weeks, then increased by 5 mg every 2 weeks until the desired blood pressure is reached. Starting low helps eliminate side effects as you described as it gradually lets your body get acquainted with the drug. Cynthia Kratina R.Ph. From what I've read the doseage can be increased if, after 2-3 weeks, the desired results are not being achieved. If this is true is there any harm in increasing my doseage to two tabs/day?
