Eye Itching

I was diagnosed with elevated IOP just last week.. My perimetry test however showed a GHT within normal limits.... I was taking the Timolol Maleate for just 4 days ( twice a day, 7 am and then 7 pm). I felt a little itching ithcing and a little hardening of my left eye for two days already. The feeling of my left eye is similar to someone who has just had a swimming in the pool or someone who just wash his eyes for a longer time. Should I discontinue the use of the drug given to me? Do you have any other drug that you can suggest if in case you will advise me to stop using it?
