Content: Each `250' Tablet contains: 250 mg amoxicillin and 125 mg potassium clavulanate. Each `500' Tablet contains 500 mg amoxicillin and 125 mg potassium clavulanate.
Each ``875'' tablet contains: 875 mg amoxicillin, 125 mg potassium clavulanate

Action/Kinetics: For details, see amoxicillin. Potassium clavulanate inactivates lactamase enzymes, which are responsible for resistance to penicillins. Effective against microorganisms that have manifested resistance to amoxicillin. For potassium clavulanate: Peak serum levels: 1-2 hr. t 1/2: 1 hr.

Uses: For beta-lactamase-producing strains of the following organisms: Lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, and sinusitis caused by Hemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis ; Skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella; UTI caused by E. coli, Klebsiella and Enterobacter. Note: Mixed infections caused by organisms susceptible to ampicillin and organisms susceptible to amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate should not require an additional antibiotic.

Dosage
?Oral Suspension, Chewable Tablets, Tablets Susceptible infections.
Adults, usual: One 500-mg tablet q 12 hr or one 250-mg tablet q 8 hr. Adults unable to take tablets can be given the 125-mg/5 mL or the 250-mg/5 mL suspension in place of the 500-mg tablet or the 200-mg/5 mL or 400-mg/5 mL suspension can be given in place of the 875-mg tablet. Children less than 3 months old: 30 mg/kg/day amoxicillin in divided doses q 12 hr. Use of the 125-mg/5 mL suspension is recommended. Children over 3 months old: 25 mg/kg/day amoxicillin in divided doses q 12 hr or 20 mg/kg/day in divided doses q 8 hr.
Respiratory tract and severe infections.
Adults: One 875-mg tablet q 12 hr or one 500-mg tablet q 8 hr. Children over 3 months old: 45 mg/kg/day of amoxicillin in divided doses q 12 hr or 40 mg/kg/day amoxicillin in divided doses q 8 hr (these doses are used in children for otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections, or sinusitis). Treatment duration for otitis media is 10 days.
