Zydis
Is The Zyprexa form Zydis which does not promote as much weight gain available by precription. Is there any weight/loss supplement or aid that a person could take to counter the weight gain of Zyprexa? Thank You for your time

Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) is used for the Treatment
Olanzapine (oh-LAN-za-peen) Treats symptoms of mental disorders and schizophrenia.
When To Not Use Zyprexa Zydis (Oral)
You should not use this medication if you have had an allergic reaction to olanzapine.
How Should You Use Zyprexa Zydis (Oral)
Tablet, Dissolving Tablet
- Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.
- You may take the medicine with food or on an empty stomach.
- If you are using the disintegrating tablet, make sure your hands are dry before you handle the tablet. Do not open the blister pack that contains the tablet until you are ready to take it. Remove the tablet from the blister pack by peeling back the foil, then taking the tablet out. Do not push the tablet through the foil. Place the tablet in your mouth. It should melt quickly. After the tablet has melted, swallow or take a drink of water. If a dose is missed:
- Take the missed dose as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next regular dose.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.
Proper Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) Storage
Store Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using Zyprexa Zydis (Oral)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking carbamazepine (Tegretol®), levodopa (Sinemet®, Larodopa®), medicine to lower blood pressure, or medicines that might make you drowsy such as sleeping pills, tranquilizers, strong pain killers, muscle relaxants, or medicine to treat depression.
- Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine.
- Smoking may decrease the amount of olanzapine that stays in your body. Make sure your doctor knows if you smoke.
Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) Warnings
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have heart or liver disease, an enlarged prostate, glaucoma, or a history of seizures, breast cancer, or severe constipation.
- If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. If you become pregnant, tell your doctor.
- You should not breastfeed while taking olanzapine.
- This medicine may make you drowsy or dizzy. If it does, avoid driving or using machinery.
- Dizziness may be worse if you get up too quickly from a sitting or lying position. Getting up slowly after you have been sitting or lying down may help decrease dizziness.
- This medicine may make you sweat less and keep your body from cooling off. If your body gets too hot, you may have heat stroke. Be careful not to get overheated in hot weather, when you are exercising, or if using a sauna or whirlpool.
- Some patients may have side effects that include muscle spasms, twitching in the face and body, and uncontrolled tongue or jaw movement. If you have questions about this or any other risks, talk to your doctor.
Zyprexa Zydis (Oral) Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Fast or irregular heartbeat
- Feeling as if you need to be moving constantly
- High fever, muscle stiffness
- Increased sweating, thirst, or trouble urinating
- Muscle spasms, twitching, or uncontrolled tongue or jaw movement
- Severe muscle weakness, trouble standing
- Trouble swallowing If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Anxiety, restlessness, behavior problems
- Constipation
- Drowsiness or dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Shakiness
- Weight gain, swelling in feet or ankles
