When To Not Use Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to dorzolamide. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.

How Should You Use Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic)

Drop

  • Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.
  • If you wear contact lenses, you may need to take them out while using these eye drops. Ask your doctor if you can wear your lenses while you are using this medicine. The medicine may leave a film on soft contact lenses.
  • Wash your hands before and after using the medicine.
  • Shake the eye drops well just before each use.
  • Lie down or tilt your head back. With your index finger, pull down the lower lid of your eye to form a pocket.
  • Hold the dropper close to your eye with the other hand. Drop the correct number of drops into the pocket made between your lower lid and eyeball. Gently close your eyes. Place your index finger over the inner corner of your eye for 1 minute. Do not rinse or wipe the dropper or allow it to touch anything, including your eye. Put the cap on the bottle right away.
  • Never share your medicine with anyone.
  • If a dose is missed:
  • If you miss a dose or forget to use your medicine, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Proper Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic) Storage

Store Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic) and all medications out of the reach of children.

What To Avoid While Using Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic)

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

  • If your doctor ordered other eye drops for you to use, do not put the other drops in at the same time as this medicine. Wait at least 10 minutes between using this medicine and any other eye medicine.
  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are also taking acetazolamide (Diamox®, Ak-Zol®), methazolamide (Neptazane®), dichlorphenamide (Daranide®), or aspirin before you start using these eye drops.

Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic) Warnings

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver or kidney disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you get an eye infection, have an eye injury, or have eye surgery while being treated with this medicine. You may need to get a new bottle of the eye drops to help prevent an eye infection or keep an infection from getting worse.
  • If your eyes or eyelids become red, itchy, or swollen when you use the drops, stop using the medicine and tell your doctor right away.

Trusopt Ocumeter (Ophthalmic) Side Effects

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

  • Fever or chills
  • Red, itchy, or swollen eyelids or eyes
  • Rash, hives, or red peeling skin
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes
  • If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
  • Bitter or unusual taste in your mouth
  • Blurred vision
  • Burning or stinging in your eyes
  • Dry eyes
  • Eye sensitivity to sunlight
  • Headache
