Trimethoprim (trye-METH-oh-prim) Treats urinary tract infections.Belongs to a group of drugs called antibacterials.

When To Not Use Trimpex (Oral)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to trimethoprim. Trimethoprim should not be taken by patients have anemia.

How Should You Use Trimpex (Oral)

Tablet

  • Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
  • You may take your medicine with food or milk to avoid stomach upset.
  • Keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor has ordered, even if you feel better. If you stop taking the medicine too soon, your infection may return.
    • If a dose is missed:
  • Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
  • If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose.
  • You should not use two doses at the same time.
