I have always had high blood pressure. My doctor started me on Toprol 75 mg. That was six years ago, and I am at the 200 mg level now. I am finally at the blood pressure I want to be at, 120/70. It's a great drug, and I've not had any side effects.

I have been taking this medication for a little over a year. I was first given this after a tumor was removed from my heart. My blood pressure has remained stable My current dose is 100 milligrams a day. The only downside is the fact that this has made me gain some weight.
