using benzonatate 100 mg with other drugs


Can I take benzonatate 100 mg with Cymbalta 20mg losartan 50mg, hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, adavan 0.5(one a day) and benedryl? I had taken it once before, pre Cymbalta and adavan, and it really worked well for me.

When To Not Use Tessalon Perles (Oral)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to benzonatate in the past.

How Should You Use Tessalon Perles (Oral)

Capsule, Liquid Filled Capsule

  • Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how often.
  • Swallow the capsules whole; do not crush or chew. Chewing the capsule may numb your mouth and throat and you could choke.
    • If a dose is missed:
  • Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
  • If it is almost time for the next dose, wait until then to take your medicine and skip the missed dose.
  • You should not use two doses at the same time.

My doctor prescribed Tessalon Perles for a dry hacking cough I have had for nearly a year! I filled the prescription and took one - within about half an hour I felt extremely irritable, upset, depressed and scared. I am not finding any information online that mentions this as a side effect, but it occurred after taking this medication. Has anyone else experienced this?
