Suprane (Inhalation) is used for the Treatment
Desflurane Causes you to become unconscious (fall asleep) before having surgery. This medicine is a type of anesthesia.
When To Not Use Suprane (Inhalation)
You should not receive this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to desflurane or similar types of inhaled anesthesia.
How Should You Use Suprane (Inhalation)

Store Suprane (Inhalation) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Suprane (Inhalation) and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using Suprane (Inhalation)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using St. John's wort, benzodiazepines (such as Valium®), or narcotic pain relievers (such as Darvon® or Demerol®).
Suprane (Inhalation) Warnings
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or clogged arteries. Tell your doctor if you have a history of seizures or head injury.
- This medicine may make you dizzy, drowsy, or confused for several hours. If you have had outpatient surgery, you will need someone to drive you home. It is best to have someone assist you at home for the first day or two after surgery.
Suprane (Inhalation) Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Lightheadedness or fainting after you awake from surgery.
- Fast, slow, or uneven heartbeat.
- Muscle stiffness, rapid breathing, pale skin and bluish-colored lips or fingernails.
- Trouble breathing. If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Coughing.
- Headache.
- Nausea or vomiting.
