Respiratory Syncytial Virus Immune Globulin, Human (RES-pi-ra-tor-ee sin-SISH-al VYE-rus im-MYOON GLOB-yoo-lin, HYOO-man) Prevents serious lung infections caused by RSV in babies born prematurely or those who have lung problems.
When To Not Use RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN
Your child should not receive this medicine if he or she has had an allergic reaction to RSV immune globulin or other immune globulin medicines.
How Should You Use RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN
Proper RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN Storage
Store RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- If your child receives any other type of vaccine (immunization), make sure the doctor or nurse knows that your child has received the RSV immune globulin.

- Make sure your doctor knows if your child has lung or heart disease or has ever had heart surgery.
RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in face or hands, swelling or tingling in the mouth or throat, tightness in chest, trouble breathing, blue lips or skin
- Drowsiness, fever, stiff muscles, discomfort in bright light, nausea and vomiting (up to 2 days after treatment) If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Diarrhea
- Slight fever
