I am forty-seven years old and have been on hormone replacement therapy for early menopause for the past seven years. I have experienced hot flashes, horrible mood swings, irritability, erratic heartbeat, fatigue, and shortness of breath. I have tried several other treatments for menopause symptoms with very vague results. Some of these treatments would relieve my symptoms for only a short amount of time, however, I would suffer from superficial blood clots in my legs as well as dealing with depression.

My doctor prescribed me 100mg of Prometrium every day, assuring me that it was a natural version of the medication. I was also recommended to take 1mg of Estradiol as well. I have to say that I was very hesitant to take both medications, however, my menopausal symptoms were completely relieved without any side effects. This is from my own experience, but I feel that Prometrium gave me my quality of life back. I have been on this medication for about a year now and I will continue with it as long as my doctor recommends. After feeling so great, I never want to feel those horrible menopausal symptoms again.

I haven't had any side effects. I take 200 mg at night and sleep like a baby. I hope it works. I've been trying too long for my third child.
