I want people to know about this drug!! it's not safe and should either be pulled from the market or at least studied more. I was on this drug for 7 months. I was so weak pushing a shopping cart was an effort. I was tired all the time, restless at night, leg cramps so bad all I could do was cry. I felt nauseated all the time, my hair was coming out by the hands full, I felt so bad I just kept asking my doctors what was going on. they did full blood workup including thyroid, everything came back fine. my heart doctor found it as soon as I started telling him, I feel if this had gone on any longer I may not be here, it was getting that bad. I have been off this drug for about a month and seeing so much difference, I can only hope there are not lasting effects. Please Please put a stronger warning on this drug. someone else may be taking it and not have the great doctor I have and let this go to long.

Taking Pravastin has caused more pain that it has helped. I have been active my entire life and now I can barely go for a walk. It's not a guarantee that my symptoms are related to the medication, but this information should serve as a warning. I have recently had to deal with pain that rivals the pain of a broken bone. And this is on a constant basis. In addition to that, I have experienced heart palpitations, constipation, and insomnia. Some lesser side effects are a sore throat and bloating. All put together, I would not recommend this medications. There has to be a better alternative out there.

After a year of using Pravastatin I have experienced several side effects including constipation, muscle aches, and brittle and splitting fingernails. Even though my cholesterol levels are better I feel sick all the time and my doctor gives me the same old speech that it’s because I am getting older. This is not the answer I want to hear. When I was younger I tried a vegan diet and my cholesterol number dropped then and I have decided once again to try the vegan diet in the hopes of losing some weight and drop my chol numbers. I am going to see my Doctor after being on the vegan diet for three months and I am hoping to see good results because I do not want to be on this medication after reading the other reviews.
