Permax (Oral) is used for the Treatment
Pergolide Mesylate (PER-go-lide MES-i-late) Treats Parkinson's disease.
When To Not Use Permax (Oral)
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an unusual or allergic reaction to pergolide or other ergot drugs such as Cafergot® or Ergostat®.
How Should You Use Permax (Oral)
Tablet
- Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
- You may take your medicine with food to avoid stomach upset. If a dose is missed:
- Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next regular dose.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.

What To Avoid While Using Permax (Oral)

- If you have taken this medicine for several weeks, don't stop taking it suddenly. You may need to take smaller and smaller doses before stopping completely.
- This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Be careful when driving a car or operating machinery.
- To avoid dizziness from this medicine, stand up slowly from a lying or sitting position.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Chest pain
- Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
- Trouble breathing
- Severe nausea and vomiting
- Hallucinations, severe confusion If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Stomach pain
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Dizziness or drowsiness
- Dry mouth
- Runny nose
