When To Not Use Pergonal (Injection)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to menotropins, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have unusual vaginal bleeding, thyroid disorders, cysts on the ovaries, enlarged ovaries, or primary testicular failure.

How Should You Use Pergonal (Injection)

Injectable

  • Use this medicine exactly as your doctor ordered. Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use and when to start.
  • Make sure you have been taught how to give an injection before taking this medicine, or have someone who is trained give you a shot.
  • Mix the medicine with sodium chloride solution (liquid) that comes with the medicine. Make sure the medicine is completely dissolved and there are no specks or solid pieces.
  • If you need to use more than one ampule of medicine, you can mix it with the solution you have just mixed so that you only need to get one shot.
  • Give the shot right after you mix the medicine.
  • Use the medicine at the same time each day.
  • If a dose is missed:
  • Tell your doctor if you have missed any doses, because this may affect your treatment.

Store Pergonal (Injection) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Pergonal (Injection) and all medications out of the reach of children.
