OXYCODONE/ASPIRIN (Oral) (Tablet) is used for the Treatment

Aspirin (AS-pir-in), Oxycodone Hydrochloride, Oxycodone Terephthalate Treats pain. This medicine is a combination of a narcotic and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID).

When To Not Use OXYCODONE/ASPIRIN (Oral) (Tablet)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to oxycodone or aspirin.

How Should You Use OXYCODONE/ASPIRIN (Oral) (Tablet)

Tablet

  • Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to take and how often. Do not take more medicine or take it more often than your doctor tells you to.
  • Never share your medicine with anyone.
    • If a dose is missed:
  • If you miss a dose or forget to take your medicine, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

What To Avoid While Using OXYCODONE/ASPIRIN (Oral) (Tablet)

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using a phenothiazine (such as Compazine®, Phenergan®, Serentil®, Thorazine®), a blood thinner (Coumadin®), probenecid (Benemid®), sulfinpyrazone (Anturane®), or any medicines that make you sleepy (such as sleeping pills, cold and allergy medicine, narcotic pain killers, or sedatives).
  • Do not drink alcohol while you are using this medicine.

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have peptic ulcer, blood clotting problems, head injury, digestive problems, severe liver or kidney disease, underactive thyroid, Addison's disease, enlarged prostate, or problems urinating.
  • This medicine may be habit-forming. If you feel that the medicine is not working as well, do not take more than your prescribed dose. Call your doctor for instructions.
  • This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in face or hands, swelling or tingling in the mouth or throat, tightness in chest, trouble breathing
  • Cold, clammy skin
  • Fast, slow, or weak heartbeat
  • Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  • Trouble breathing
    • If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
  • Constipation
  • Drowsiness, weakness
  • Nausea, vomiting

This is extremely untfrtunaoe. This is a perfect example of why I believe drugs of all varieties are highly overprescribed. Obviously there are many people who have a legitimate need for various medications, but the sad fact is that many medical and psychological professionals have come to view them as a quick easy fix. I have literally heard groups of women, on several occasions, discuss which doctors they use to easily procure whatever medication they are seeking. I can only hope that these new statistics will open some eyes and perhaps enable the establishment of some sort of oversight.
