I currently suffer from many illnesses that create a great deal of pain. Without Morphine I would not be able to handle the pain. I would never get any rest and the stress would be too much to bear.

Hearing other people’s struggles help me get through my days. So this is my story. One day a Brahma Bull wandered onto my property, when I tried to chase him away, he ran towards me and I was stomped on and thrown. I ended up with five fractured vertebrate; two are at C4 and C5, two are at T12 and L1 and one is at L3. They are all compression fractures. For five years I have attempted to find help. I have Spondylitis and severe stenosis at all the sites. I feel as if I am going to have to be on narcotic pain for the rest of my life. I am on a Fentanyl patch at 50 mcg, Flexeril at 10 mg and Lodine at 400 mg, Gabapentin at 600 mg and Citalopram at 30 mg and take all of these three times a day with the exception of the Citalopram. My physicians are now discussing the option of a morphine pump. The most difficult part of this for me is that I used to be so vibrant. I was an avid hunter, a jump trainer and a rider for 35 years without any injuries and now suddenly I feel invalid. I want to find value in life again. I am always looking for ideas from others on how they cope.
