Lotrisone (Topical) is used for the Treatment
Betamethasone (bay-ta-METH-a-sone), Clotrimazole (kloe-TRIM-a-zole) Treats athlete's foot, ringworm, and other fungus infections.
When To Not Use Lotrisone (Topical)
You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to clotrimazole or similar drugs, such as butoconazole (Femstat®), miconazole (Monistat®), econazole (Spectazole®), or ketoconazole (Nizoril®). Also avoid using the medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to betamethasone or medicines such as hydrocortisone (Hytone®), fluocinonide (Lidex®), triamcinolone (Aristocort®).
How Should You Use Lotrisone (Topical)
Cream, Lotion
- Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor tells you to.
- For use on the skin only.
- Shake the bottle of lotionwell just before using.
- Apply a thin layer to the affected area. Rub in gently.
- Do not cover with bandages unless your doctor tells you to. If a dose is missed:
- Apply the missed dose as soon as possible.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next regular dose.
- Do not use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
Proper Lotrisone (Topical) Storage
Store Lotrisone (Topical) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Lotrisone (Topical) and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using Lotrisone (Topical)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Unless approved by your doctor, do not mix or use other skin medicines with this medicine.
Lotrisone (Topical) Warnings
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking the medicine
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have an infection of the skin such as herpes, chickenpox, or tuberculosis.
- Do not apply in or around the eyes.
- Do not apply this medicine to your face or neck unless your doctor told you to do so.
Lotrisone (Topical) Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Severe itching, burning, or skin irritation
- Signs of infection such as redness, swelling, drainage, or pus If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Mild, temporary stinging
- Irritation, burning, redness, peeling, or blistering of skin
- Numbness or tingling at site of application
