For anyone considering taking Lamictal, you must be careful about side effects! While on this drug, I noticed that I was falling down far more often than I ever had before. I actually got hurt twice from falling. Another side effect I noticed was that I began to look like a man after my thyroid gland was affected. Not one of the many doctors I visited could figure out why; however, after trips to my general practitioner, OB GYN, and ENT, I finally began to put two and two together. I had a refill due for my Lamictal and read the information on the bottle. The bottle listed the exact symptoms I had been experiencing. I immediately stopped using the drug. However, nearly a year later, I have hypothyroidism and I am wondering if this drug was the cause.

This medication was prescribed to me for bipolar depression and seizures. I am concerned because I recently read that everything that you are not supposed to take it with I am already on. I'm worried.
