Kytril (Injection) is used for the Treatment

Granisetron (gra-NI-se-tron) Treats nausea and vomiting caused by cancer treatments (chemotherapy or radiation).

When To Not Use Kytril (Injection)

You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to granisetron.

How Should You Use Kytril (Injection)

Injectable

  • Your doctor will prescribe your dose and tell you how often it should be given.
  • Your medicine will be given through a tube put in one of your veins, usually in your arm, wrist, or hand and sometimes in your chest. This is called intravenous (in-tra-VEEN-us), or IV.
  • Your treatment will be given by a nurse or other caregiver trained to give IV medicine. Sometimes you, someone in your family, or a friend can be taught to give your medicine.
  • The IV liquid should be clear. If you see any specks in the IV liquid or if it changes color, You should not use the medicine. Get a new dose of the medicine.
  • If a dose is missed:
  • If you have your treatments at home, use the medicine as soon as you remember.
  • If it is almost time for your next regular dose, skip the missed dose. Use the medicine at your usual time.
  • Do not give two doses at the same time.
  • If you get your treatments at a clinic, call the clinic. You may need to make a new appointment.
