I have treated a quite a few pniteats with lichen planus, and I agree with Beth. I have found some of the women pniteats have other areas affected, but not the men I have treated. What we recommend and have found helpful for most pniteats is using all natural toothpastes such as Jasons. Any product without sodium laurel sulfate, some dyes, and chemicals such as triclosan have also been beneficial in keeping the inflammation from flaring up as often.

I've had cold sores since I was three or four years old (I'm 66). Still get them. About ten years ago a dentist prescribed fluocinonide cream and said, "Give it a try." To me, it's a miracle drug. Whenever I feel the itching sore spot on my lips that tells me a cold sore is imminent I dab a small amount of the cream on the tender spot and, nine times out of ten, it eliminates the itching and stops the growht of the cold sore. My wife, who infrequently gets cold sores, also swears by it. My suggestion is, Try it. It might work this well for you to.

I also was prescribed this cream by a dentist for mouth ulcers (inside the mouth). I also call it a miracle drug. As soon as I feel a mouth ulcer beginning to form, I put the cream directly on that area. It prevents further growth and discomfort within one to two days. If I already have an ulcer, the medication immediately begins the healing process and even stops the pain so I can eat a meal with less discomfort!
