You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to erythromycin or benzoyl peroxide in the past.
How Should You Use ERYTHROMYCIN/BENZOYL PEROXIDE (Topical) (Gel/Jelly)
Gel/Jelly
- Your doctor will tell you how often to use this medicine.
- For use on the skin only.
- Wash and dry the area before you put on the medicine. If you have just shaved, you should wait 30 minutes before applying the medicine to prevent stinging or irritation.
- Put the medicine on with your fingers and spread it over the affected area (on and around the acne).
- Do not apply in or around the eyes.
- Wash your hands after using. If a dose is missed:
- Apply the missed dose as soon as possible.
- Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next regular dose.
- You should not use twice as much medicine at one time.

- Using PABA sunscreen and benzoyl peroxide together may cause your skin to change color. Ask your pharmacist for a sunscreen product that does not contain PABA.

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
- Benzoyl peroxide may bleach hair and dyed fabric. Avoid getting the medicine on your hair or clothes.
