Diflucan (Oral) is used for the Treatment
Fluconazole (floo-KOE-na-zole) Treats fungus infections.Belongs to a class of drugs called antifungals.
When To Not Use Diflucan (Oral)
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to fluconazole or other anti-fungal medicines.
How Should You Use Diflucan (Oral)
Tablet, Liquid
- Your doctor will tell you how much to take and how often.
- May be taken with or without food.
- You may swallow the tablet whole or crush it.
- Shake the oral liquid well before using. Carefully measure the dose with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup.
- Keep taking the medicine for as long as your doctor tells you to. If a dose is missed:
- Take your medicine as soon as you remember.
- If it is nearly time for your next dose, wait until then to take your medicine and skip the missed dose.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.

What To Avoid While Using Diflucan (Oral)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking cimetidine (Tagamet®), rifampin, Dilantin®, theophylline, Coumadin®, cyclosporine, zidovidine (AZT), or diabetes medicine.

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease, kidney disease, or other medical problems before you take this medicine.
Diflucan (Oral) Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Yellow skin or eyes
- Extreme tiredness, nausea
- Pale-colored stools
- Dark or orange-colored urine
- Severe stomach pain (especially on your right side)
- Skin rash or hives If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Stomach upset
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea
- Headache or dizziness
