Cylert (Oral) is used for the Treatment
Pemoline (PEM-oh-leen) Treats attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy (sudden attacks of uncontrollable sleepiness).
When To Not Use Cylert (Oral)
You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to pemoline.
How Should You Use Cylert (Oral)
Tablet, Chewable Tablet
- Take this medicine exactly as your doctor ordered.
- To avoid trouble sleeping, take pemoline in the morning (unless your doctor tells you differently).
- May be taken with or without food.
- The chewable tablets have to be chewed before you swallow them. Do not swallow whole. If a dose is missed:
- Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
- If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and take your medicine at your usual times.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.

Store Cylert (Oral) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Cylert (Oral) and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using Cylert (Oral)

- Check with your doctor before taking this medicine if you have Tourette's syndrome, epilepsy (seizures), depression or anxiety problems, or kidney or liver disease.
- Pemoline may be habit-forming. You may have withdrawal symptoms, such as stomach pain, trembling, depressed mood, weakness, tiredness, and anxiety, after you stop taking pemoline.
- Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine, because you may need to take smaller and smaller doses before completely stopping the medicine.
- Talk with your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- This medicine may make you dizzy or give you a sense of well-being (make you high). Be careful when driving a car or using machinery.
Cylert (Oral) Side Effects
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes
- Fast or irregular heartbeat
- Severe headache
- Trouble breathing
- Skin rash, severe itching or hives
- Uncontrolled eye or body movements
- Confusion, hallucinations, or seizures If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Euphoria (sense of well-being) or dizziness
- Restlessness, trembling, or nervousness
- Trouble sleeping or headache
- Nausea or vomiting
- Tiredness, irritability, or depressed mood
- Stomach cramps, loss of appetite, weight loss
