Cobal (Injection) is used for the Treatment
Cyanocobalamin (sye-an-oh-ko-BAL-a-min) Treats vitamin B-12 deficiency. Cyanocobalamin is another name for vitamin B-12.
When To Not Use Cobal (Injection)
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to vitamin B-12.
How Should You Use Cobal (Injection)
Injectable
- Your doctor will tell you when to get your shots.
- You may need to get your shots in your doctor's office, or they may be given to you by a home care nurse or someone who has been trained to give you your shot. If a dose is missed:
- Call your doctor to reschedule your appointment.
- If you are getting your shots at home, get your shot as soon as you remember, and then return to your regular schedule.
- You should not use two doses at the same time.
Proper Cobal (Injection) Storage
Store Cobal (Injection) at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture unless otherwise stated by manufacturer's instructions or labelling. Keep Cobal (Injection) and all medications out of the reach of children.
What To Avoid While Using Cobal (Injection)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
- Ask your doctor for special diet instructions.
- You should not use folic acid vitamin supplements unless your doctor tells you differently.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Hives
- Chest tightness or trouble breathing If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
- Mild pain or irritation where the shot is given
- Diarrhea
- Skin rash
