ARGATROBAN (Injection) (Injectable) is used for the Treatment

Argatroban Treats or prevents blood clots in patients with bleeding problems caused by another medicine called heparin. Also given to patients before having balloon angioplasty, a procedure to open a clogged artery.

When To Not Use ARGATROBAN (Injection) (Injectable)

You should not receive this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to argatroban. This medicine should not be given if you have severe bleeding from any cause.

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing.
  • Black, tarry stools.
  • Blood in your urine.
  • Chest pain.
  • Lightheadedness or fainting.
  • Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness.
  • Vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
  • If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:
  • Back pain.
  • Fever.
  • Diarrhea.
