I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHAT ARE ANALYTICAL METHODS FOR SPARFLOXICIN AS WELL AS WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ITS PHARMACOKINETICS.ANALYTICAL METHODS SHOULD BE THOSE THAT CAN BE RUN ON UV DETECTORS AS WELL AS HPLC METHODS ARE NEEDED.PLZ.KINDLY HELP ME OUT.THANKS.

Classification: Fluoroquinolone antibiotic

Action/Kinetics: Well absorbed. Peak serum levels: 4-5 hr. 50% excreted in the urine.

Uses: Community acquired pneumonia due to Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Streptococcus pneumoniae. Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by C. pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, H. influenzae, H. parainfluenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, M. catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus or S. pneumoniae.

Special Concerns: Safety and efficacy have not been determined in children less than 18 years of age.

How Supplied: Tablets: 200 mg.

Dosage
?Tablets Community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
Adults over 18 years of age: Two - 200 mg tablets taken on the first day as a loading dose. Then, one - 200 mg tablet q 24 hr for a total of 10 days of therapy (i.e., a total of 11 tablets). For clients with a C CR less than 50 mL/min, the loading dose is two - 200 mg tablets taken on the first day. Then, one - 200 mg tablet q 48 hr for a total of 9 days (i.e., a total of 6 tablets).
