1ml Minoxidil not enough for whole head


Dear Sir, i am using minoxidil 5%.it is written that only 1ml does should be used twise a day.(6 strokes).my problem is that my hairs from all parts of head in cluding vertex,back,both sides,front are getting very thin,but i still have hairs.the does...

Classification: Hair growth stimulant

Action/Kinetics: The topical solution stimulates vertex hair growth in clients with male pattern baldness or in women with androgenetic alopecia. Mechanism may be related to dilation of arterioles and stimulation of resting hair follicles into active growth. Following topical administration, approximately 1.4% is absorbed into the systemic circulation. Onset: 4 months but is variable. Duration: New hair growth may be lost 3-4 months after withdrawal of therapy. Minoxidil and its inactive metabolites are excreted in the urine. Also, see Minoxidil, oral.

Uses: To treat male and female pattern baldness (alopecia androgenetica). Extra Strength (5%) is only for treatment of hereditary male pattern baldness. Investigational: Alopecia areata.

Contraindications: Lactation. Use of 5% solution in women.

Special Concerns: Use with caution in clients with hypertension, coronary heart disease, or predisposition to heart failure. Safety and efficacy in clients under 18 years of age have not been determined. Increased systemic absorption may occur if the scalp is irritated or there are abrasions.

Side Effects: Dermatologic: Allergic contact dermatitis, irritant dermatitis, pruritus, dry skin, flaking of scalp, alopecia, hypertrichosis, erythema, worsening of hair loss. Allergic: Hives, facial swelling, allergic rhinitis. CNS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, faintness, anxiety, depression, fatigue. Respiratory: Sinusitis, bronchitis, respiratory infection. Miscellaneous: Conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, vertigo. NOTE: The incidence of side effects due to placebos is often similar to the incidence of side effects due to the drug itself.

Drug Interactions: Corticosteroids, topical / Enhance absorption of topical minoxidil Guanethidine / Possible risk of orthostatic hypotension Petrolatum / Enhances absorption of topical minoxidil Retinoids / Enhance absorption of topical minoxidil

How Supplied: Solution: 2%, 5%

Dosage
?Topical Solution: 2%, 5% Stimulate hair growth.
Adults: Apply 1 mL b.i.d. directly onto the scalp in the hair loss area. 5% solution not to be used on women.
