allergy


my husband had a sunburn and we put some hydrocortisone creme on it w/in 2 days his back broke out and redness in raised bumps. we are pretty sure that its what its from but not sure since he was working out in our yard

How Supplied: Hydrocortisone Cortisol: Balm: 1%; Cream: 0.5%, 1%, 2.5%; Enema: 100 mg/60 mL; Gel/jelly: 1%; Liquid: 1%; Lotion: 0.25%, O.5%, 1%, 2%, 2.5%; Ointment: 0.5%, 1%, 2.5%; Pad: 0.5%, 1%; Solution: 1%, 2.5%; Spray: 1%; Tablet: 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg. Hydrocortisone acetate: Cream: 0.5%, 1%; Foam: 10%; Injection: 50 mg/mL; Ointment: 0.5%, 1%; Spray: 0.5%; Suppository: 25 mg, 30 mg. Dosage
Hydrocortisone ?Tablets
20-240 mg/day, depending on disease.
?IM Only
One-third to one-half the PO dose q 12 hr.
?Rectal
100 mg in retention enema nightly for 21 days (up to 2 months of therapy may be needed; discontinue gradually if therapy exceeds 3 weeks).
?Topical Ointment, Cream, Gel, Lotion, Solution, Spray
Apply sparingly to affected area and rub in lightly t.i.d.-q.i.d.
Hydrocortisone acetate ?Intralesional, Intra-articular, Soft Tissue
5-50 mg, depending on condition.
?Intrarectal Foam
1 applicatorful (90 mg) 1-2 times/day for 2-3 weeks; then every second day.

Apply a thin film to the affected area b.i.d.-t.i.d.
Hydrocortisone probutate ?Topical Cream
Apply a thin film to the affected area 1-2 times/day.
Hydrocortisone cypionate ?Suspension
20-240 mg/day, depending on the severity of the disease.
Hydrocortisone sodium phosphate ?IV, IM, SC General uses.
Initial: 15-240 mg/day depending on use and on severity of the disease. Usually, one-half to one-third of the PO dose is given q 12 hr.
Adrenal insufficiency, acute.
Adults, initial: 100 mg IV; then, 100 mg q 8 hr in an IV fluid; older children, initial: 1-2 mg/kg by IV bolus; then, 150-250 mg/kg/day IV in divided doses; infants, initial: 1-2 mg/kg by IV bolus; then, 25-150 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Hydrocortisone sodium succinate ?IM, IV
Initial: 100-500 mg; then, may be repeated at 2-, 4-, and 6-hr intervals depending on response and severity of condition.
