25 mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride contraindications


I am hypothyroid and take synthyroid.    I have begun having sleeping problems and feel exhausted.  Would 25 mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride be contraindicated with my thyroid medication?   Thanks   Leslie

Tingly feeling while taking Diphenhydramine


When I take the sleepig product I get a "tingly" feeling. It is like the sensation one gets when taking niacin. any comment? Thanks

Classification: Antihistamine, ethanolamine-type; antiemetic

Action/Kinetics: High sedative, anticholinergic, and antiemetic effects.

Uses: Hypersensitivity reactions, motion sickness (PO only), parkinsonism, nighttime sleep aid (PO only), antitussive (syrup only).

Contraindications: Topically to treat chickenpox, poison ivy, or sunburn. Topically on large areas of the body or on blistered or oozing skin.

How Supplied: Balm: 2%; Capsule: 25 mg, 50 mg; Chew Tablet: 12.5 mg; Cream: 2%; Elixir: 12.5 mg/5 mL; Injection: 10 mg/mL, 50 mg/mL; Liquid: 6.25 mg/5 mL, 12.5 mg/5 mL, 50 mg/15 mL; Lotion: 0.5%; Spray: 1%, 2%; Syrup: 12.5 mg/5 mL; Tablet: 25 mg, 50 mg

Dosage
?Capsules, Chewable Tablets, Elixir, Liquid, Syrup, Tablets Antihistamine, antiemetic, antimotion sickness, parkinsonism.
Adults: 25-50 mg t.i.d.-q.i.d.; pediatric, over 10 kg: 12.5-25 mg t.i.d.-q.i.d. (or 5 mg/kg/day not to exceed 300 mg/day or 150 mg/m 2/day).
Sleep aid.
Adults and children over 12 years: 50 mg at bedtime.
Antitussive (Syrup only).
Adults: 25 mg q 4 hr, not to exceed 100 mg/day; pediatric, 6-12 years: 12.5-25 mg q 4 hr, not to exceed 50 mg/day; pediatric, 2-6 years: 6.25 mg q 4 hr, not to exceed 25 mg/day.
?IV, Deep IM Parkinsonism.
Adults: 10-50 mg up to 100 mg if needed (not to exceed 400 mg/day); pediatric: 1.25 mg/kg (or 37.5 mg/m 2) q.i.d., not to exceed a total of 300 mg/day.
