I know this may sound silly, but I heard that cortizone shots causes a person to gain weight. Is that so? It sounds far fetched, but I have no clue.
And haven't been able to find it in the side effects section. Thanks

Common side effectsof cortisone (injection) treatments are:
Infection
Conditions of Excess Fluids or Stomach Acid Secretion
Abnormal Trouble Sleeping
Increased Hunger
Nervousness

Weight gain (other than puffiness in the face with some people), is not common and might occur if the cortisone is interacting with another one of your medications.

Hey Cajsue, how are you doing?

A centerpiece of Dr. Pamela Peeke weight-management advice is teaching people to effectively navigate what she calls the CortiZone, the time from 3 p.m. through evening when cortisol and adrenaline levels decrease in the bloodstream and individuals are at greatest risk for stress eating. That's the time when "the vending machine is calling you," she says.
