Onset: 30-60 min; duration: 8-15 hr. t1/2: Less than 24 hr. Therapeutic blood levels: 0.003-0.012 mcg/mL. Excreted in urine partially unchanged.
Uses:
Short-term (8-12 weeks) treatment of exogenous obesity in conjunction with a weight reduction program including exercise, reduced caloric intake, and behavior modification.
Additional Side Effects
Testicular pain.
How Supplied:
Tablet: 1 mg, 2 mg
Dosage
•Tablets
Adults, initial: 1 mg once daily 1 hr before the first meal of the day; then, dose can be increased to 1 mg t.i.d. before meals or 2 mg once daily 1 hr before lunch.
