]Action/Kinetics:
Slight anticholinergic, sedative, and orthostatic hypotensive effects. Effective plasma levels: 125-300 ng/mL. t1/2: 12-24 hr. Time to reach steady state: 2-11 days. Response usually seen within the first week.
Uses:
Symptoms of depression. Bulimia nervosa. To decrease craving and depression during cocaine withdrawal. To treat severe neurogenic pain. Cataplexy associated with narcolepsy. Attention deficit disorders with or without hyperactivity in children over 6 years of age.
Contraindications:
Use in children less than 12 years of age.
Special Concerns:
Safe use during pregnancy has not been established. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children.
Additional Side Effects:
Bad taste in mouth, hypertension during surgery.

Tablet: 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg
Dosage

Antidepressant.
Initial: 100-200 mg/day in single or divided doses. Maximum daily dose: 300 mg in severely ill clients. Maintenance: 50-100 mg/day. Geriatric and adolescent clients: 25-100 mg/day in single or divided doses up to a maximum of 150 mg/day.
Cocaine withdrawal.
50-200 mg/day.
